John Ranji Samuel
With proven success in Innovation, Automation and Mechatronics, Samuel possesses extensive experience in Technology integration harnessing marine propulsion, power generation, transmission, HVAC, auxiliaries, sensors and piping systems. Professionally, he has mostly been involved in ship building projects and was overseeing the construction of India’s largest warship building program (Indigenous Aircraft Carrier project) as Senior Naval Engineer Overseer. He is currently serving as a Commander in the Indian Navy at the Naval War College in Goa.
Education & Achievements:
Samuel is a postgraduate in Systems and Control Engineering from IIT (Bombay).
He is an MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai
He also completed an Executive Post graduate Program from IIM, Kozhikode
He was a faculty for Mechatronics at the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) Pune, and was guiding several projects in the field of Programmable logic controllers, SCADA based control systems and fast output sampling controllers.
Samuel is a strategy development and senior level planner – skilled at project envisioning, design and implementation with a consistent ability to lead, motivate and challenge multifarious technology and management teams to develop enterprise solutions amidst conflicting objectives, functional boundaries and cultural inhibitions.
He is a consensus seeker and negotiator with broad understanding of Governments, Unions, local communities and global standards organisations. He possesses 23 years of functional experience on marine platforms, repair yards, ship building centres, trial agencies, command and staff assignments. He was selected for commissioning the first indigenous guided missile destroyer at Mazagon Docks.
An active sports man and adventure enthusiast, he is a qualified skier, trekker and angler.
